These terms set out the rules for using gicnt.org and for engaging GICNT’s certification services. They are written in plain language: if you are an operator, please read them together with our Privacy Policy before applying.
Who we are and acceptance of these terms
GICNT is an independent certification body that assesses gambling operators against published standards covering licensing, player protection, AML & KYC, fair play, data security and advertising.
By accessing or using gicnt.org, or by submitting a certification application, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with any part of them, please do not use the website or our services.
What GICNT does
GICNT verifies and certifies gambling operators against our six standards:
- Licensing & Legal Status (GICNT-LS);
- Player Protection (GICNT-PP);
- AML & KYC (GICNT-AML);
- Fair Play & Game Integrity (GICNT-FP);
- Data Protection & Cybersecurity (GICNT-DS); and
- Advertising & Marketing (GICNT-AM).
A GICNT certificate records our independent assessment at a particular point in time. It does not replace an operator’s legal obligations and it does not guarantee future performance.
Using this website
You may use gicnt.org for lawful purposes only. You agree not to:
- provide false or misleading information in any enquiry or application;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, or test, scan or probe them without our permission;
- interfere with the operation of the website, including through viruses or automated scraping;
- misuse or misrepresent our certification marks or certificates; or
- use the website to break the law or infringe the rights of others.
If we reasonably believe you have breached these rules, we may restrict or block your access to the website and decline to proceed with an application.
Certification services
4.1 Application and assessment
A certification engagement begins when you submit an application. Each engagement is subject to a separate written agreement that describes the scope, the evidence required, the fees and the assessment methodology for the relevant standard.
4.2 Certification outcome
Where an assessment is successful, we issue a certificate stating the scope and the date of the assessment. Where it is not, we explain the findings to you; you may address the gaps and apply again. A decision to grant, refuse, suspend or withdraw a certificate is at our reasonable discretion, exercised on the basis of the evidence.
4.3 Suspension and withdrawal
A certificate may be suspended or withdrawn if you no longer meet the standard, if you fail to cooperate with a reassessment, or if information relevant to the certification later proves to be inaccurate. We will notify you and give you a reasonable opportunity to respond before final action.
Information on this website
The content of gicnt.org, including descriptions of our standards, is general information about our services. It is not legal, regulatory, tax or gambling advice, and it does not create any obligation on us beyond what is set out in a written agreement. Operators remain responsible for their own compliance with the law and with their licence conditions.
Intellectual property
The GICNT name, the GICNT wordmark, the names and codes of our standards (GICNT-LS, GICNT-PP, GICNT-AML, GICNT-FP, GICNT-DS, GICNT-AM), our certificates and the content of this website are owned by or licensed to GICNT.
You may view and download content from this website for your own internal information. You may not reproduce, republish or resell it, and you may not use our marks or certificates in a way that suggests an endorsement or relationship that does not exist, without our prior written permission.
Disclaimers
The website is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components, and we give no warranties beyond those required by law.
A certificate reflects our assessment of evidence provided at the time of assessment. We do not warrant that an operator will remain compliant after certification, and we accept no responsibility for an operator’s subsequent conduct in the market.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GICNT will not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue or opportunity, arising out of or in connection with the use of this website or the certification services.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Third-party links
Our website may link to external sites, including regulators and accredited test laboratories. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. A link does not mean we endorse the third party.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time as our services or the law change. The current version is always available at https://gicnt.org/terms/. Continued use of the website after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms; where we change terms that affect an active certification, we will notify you directly.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which GICNT is established, and any dispute relating to them will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that jurisdiction.
If you have any question about these terms, email us at [email protected].
